OPNC Funds Community Grants

At our meeting on March 10, 2025 we funded three Neighborhood Purpose Grants:

  1. We approved up to $2,781 for the Longwood Area Neighborhood Association (LANA) Community Block Party. This event is planned for May 3 and is open and free to the public and will including dancing, games, crafts and other opportunities for people to meet their neighbors. LANA’s goal is to identify block captains ans sign people up for 2025 safety training. OPNC is excited to sponsor this event and host a table at the party. See you there!
  2. OPNC approved up to $4,750 for Beautify LA to implement environmentally sustainable beautification projects in Olympic Park to enhance public spaces, promote community engagement, and foster a sense of pride among residents. Funds will be used for gardening, cleaning, and art supplies at community engagement events.
  3. We approved up to $1,500 for the LAFD Battalion 11 Appreciation Dinner around April 21-23.

“OPNC is excited to play a role in beautifying our neighborhood and fostering community; our recently approved NPGs provide two fantastic local nonprofits with resources to undertake meaningful work making OPNC a better place to live, work, and play,” shares OPNC President Ramsay Goyal.
