OPNC heard a presentation from a USC student building CityWise, an interactive map that tracks Los Angeles Councilmembers’ impacts.
We are building CityWise, an interactive map that tracks Los Angeles Councilmembers’ impacts. Everything from housing, education, green spaces, roads, and more are tracked on this map and updated in real time. We hope that this project gives you a better understanding of not only what your Councilmember has accomplished, but what more you would want done in your community.
CityWise shows you the legislation that was passed, or still in City Hall, within your district. Simply type in your address, or choose your representative from the dropdown, and browse through all of the council files in your immediate area. Click on a project to view the voting record from other Councilmembers, as well as a timeline of events, to understand what really happened, when, and why. Each timeline event is linked to the actual source of truth, which you can read for yourself. On the bottom right of the screen, there is a button to give us your feedback. Please do! Your perspective is valuable, and will help us make this website into a centralized place for all local legislation in Los Angeles.
