Held in the Bruce Meyer Family Gallery- named for distinguished Roman alum, Bruce Meyer- the Gala Celebrates Los Angeles High School’s history, legacy, and future potential. Featuring LA High students and Alumni Award Recipients:
GEORGE TAKEI LAHS Class of 1956
Mr. Takei is best known for his portrayal of Mr. Sulu in the acclaimed television and film series Star Trek. He’s an actor, social justice activist and social media mega-power! He originated the role of Sam Kimura and Ojii-Chan in the Broadway musical Allegiance, and is the subject of To Be Takei, a documentary on his life and career.
MILT LARSEN LAHS Class of 1949
A true renaissance man, with a career that encompasses writing, producing and performing across multiple disciplines, Mr. Larsen is best known for his role in the world of Magic! Founder and President of the world famous private club for Magicians, The Magic Castle in Hollywood, he has been voted one of the 100 most influential individuals in the history of magic! In addition, he is a well known theater historian and record collector!
GERRY BROWN LAHS Class of 1976
Mr. Brown is a Grammy Award winning recording engineer and producer, based in Los Angeles and credited on over 47 Platinum and Gold Records working with such mega stars as Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, Vanessa Williams and Brian McKnight. His 2011 Grammy win was for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, “The Stanley Clarke Band“.
