Born from the need to recognize the heroic efforts during the January fires, Five Neighborhood Councils—Pico Union, Westlake North, United Neighborhoods, Echo Park, and Olympic Park—came together with Saint Sophia Cathedral, Friends of the Pico Union Library, and Windmill Links Environmental Community Fund to sponsor this remarkable three-day event. This celebration honored the unwavering courage and dedication of LAFD Battalion 11, uniting the community in gratitude and appreciation. Together, we celebrated the bravery that protects us all!

This remarkable tribute stands as a powerful testament to the community’s heartfelt gratitude and unity. Aurora and Andrew Corona joined forces with Battalion Chief Kenneth Cook, whose vision and leadership brought the idea to life. Championing it to the upper chain of command, Chief Cook’s unwavering support was instrumental in transforming this concept into reality. His contributions are deeply appreciated, ensuring these special evenings were both memorable and meaningful.

Over the three days of celebration, the menu featured an impressive variety of dishes, including savory Roasted Lamb, Dino’s Famous Chicken, Colori Kitchen specialties, Masa creations, Fu Palace delights, and a flavorful feast from Clifton’s BBQ. Guests also enjoyed refreshing, fresh fruit-flavored aguas frescas, adding a vibrant and hydrating touch to the spread. Sweet treats rounded off the meals, with indulgent options like Baskin Robbins ice cream, peach cobbler, and delectable cannoli.

The celebration soared as the LA Red Shield Salvation Youth Mariachi filled the air with vibrant music and rhythmic melodies. Their passion and talent brought a festive energy that everyone enjoyed, perfectly complementing the appreciation for Battalion 11 and making the event unforgettable.
