Congressional Art Competition

May 28, 2020

Alert: The coronavirus health emergency has required that we shift this year’s Congressional Art Competition to an online, virtual art show. Please read below for the new deadlines for submission, how to submit online, and how to get your questions answered. I look forward to seeing the art of our talented students this year, even if it will be online, and to selecting our winners!

New Submission Deadline: May 28, 2020

The top prize remains the honor of having a student art piece displayed in the US Capitol Building for a year. That winner will also receive a pair of round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C. for the opening reception. Additional winners will also receive cash prizes and the privilege of having their work displayed in my Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. offices.

New This Year: People’s Choice Award

This year, we will also have a People’s Choice Award Competition. Each member of the Congressional Art Competition Judging Panel will nominate one image to the People’s Choice Award. These images will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages on June 1st. The public will be invited to vote on art pieces by liking the image. Voting will close on June 4th and the winner will be announced on June 5th. The piece with the most likes on both platforms will be honored as the People’s Choice Award Winner and receive a cash prize.
